Kemps is a majority employee owned general accountancy and tax advisory practice.

We were founded by Harry Kemp BSC FCA BFP in April 2003, building on his more than 12 years post ICAEW qualification experience with several firms of Chartered Accountants in various roles including audit, accountancy and tax advice & planning.

Our philosophy is simple: To provide friendly timely compliance services, tax advice and planning for all types of business entities, non for profit bodies and individuals, across the breadth of accountancy, taxation, payroll, VAT, making tax digital compliance, company secretarial and registered office service.

We also provide niche services in many specialist areas, including capital gains tax, private landlord tax, estate tax, trust tax, company restructuring, property management companies, independent examination of charities, limited liability partnerships, online tax settlements, charitable incorporated organisations, and employee ownership trust structures.

We have a strong, dynamic and proactive team of staff with various accountancy qualifications and combined practice experience of over 75 years. Cathy Waters FMAAT, became company director along side Harry in November 2025 and brings to the board strong technical skills as well as previous managerial experience in industry.

We are proud to be at the heart of our local community. We’ve had offices in Broadstairs High Street since 2003, providing services and building strong mutually beneficial networks within Thanet and Kent.

We are fully regulated by the ICAEW practice assurance scheme and carry comprehensive public indemnity insurance ensuring clients receive the highest degree of professional advice and care.
